This simplified version of the famous Donair sandwich makes an easy and satisfying family meal.
1/4 cup (60 mL) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup (60 mL) white vinegar
1 lb (500 g) deli-sliced roast beef
8 slices Ben’s® Xtra White Sandwich Bread, toasted
2 cups (500 mL) shredded lettuce
1 tomato, sliced
1 white onion, sliced
Whisk condensed milk with vinegar; set aside.
Divide roast beef evenly over 4 slices of bread. Top with lettuce, tomato and onion; drizzle with condensed milk mixture. Cap with remaining bread. To serve, cut sandwiches in half.
