Making your own spinach cream cheese spread is quick and easy to prepare. Simply puree in food processor until smooth.

  • 1 Ben's Whole Wheat Bagel, split and toasted

    1/2 cup (125 mL) light cream cheese, softened

    1/4 cup (60 mL) thawed chopped spinach, pressed dry

    2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped pickled jalapeno peppers

    1 tbsp (15 mL) water 1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh basil

    1 clove garlic

    2 slices tomatoes Pinch each salt and pepper


Add cream cheese, spinach, jalapeno, water, garlic, basil, salt and pepper to food processor; pulse until smooth.

Spread 1 tbsp (15 mL) over each bagel half. Keep remaining refrigerated for another use. Top with tomato. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Tip: Garnish sandwich with grated Parmesan cheese, jalapenos or alfalfa sprouts if desired. Use this spread as a dip or filling in sandwiches.
